Xiaomi sued in India and France for using this technology in its phones since 2018

Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is facing legal troubles in India and France over alleged patent infringement. The smartphone maker has been sued over the LTE-Advanced (LTE-A) technology, which the Sun Patent Trust claims Xiaomi has been using in its 4G smartphones since late 2018 without proper licensing.

Sun Patent Trust is a Delaware-based company that owns over 3,000 former Panasonic patents. The company says it has been trying to negotiate a licensing deal with Xiaomi for over four years without success. The suits, filed by Sun Patent Trust, have a combined value of over $300 million (around Rs 24,978 crores).
