British tourists travelling to Europe on holiday risk ‘long delays and confusion’ as several airports remain unprepared for major travel changes that are set to be made this year.
The EU’s new Entry/Exit System (EES) is expected to launch this autumn. It will require people travelling from outside of the EU to Schengen Area countries like Greece, Spain, Portugal and France to register their fingerprints and a facial scan before they cross the border.
