Chisinau, 16 December /MOLDPRES/ – The best sportspeople from Moldova and their coaches have been awarded prizes at the Sports Gala 2023, organized by the Education and Research Ministry (MEC). This year, Moldovan sportspeople got 545 medals at a string of Olympic, Paralympic and non-Olympic competitions at diverse age categories, which is a record result for Moldova. Also, six sportspeople managed to qualify for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
The best sportswoman of Moldova of the 2023 year was elected wrestler Anastasia Nichita, European champion, world vice-champion, who qualified for the 2024 Paris Olympic Games.
